How can I answer questions that require formulas and graphs on a digital test?

For select TVO ILC courses in math, business and science, students writing final tests through ProctorU can use a digital tool called EquatIO, which is located in the “insert stuff” section of the rich text answer box

It is also available within digital practice tests for these courses, which we  highly recommend using to prepare for the final test.   EquatIO allows you to save the formulas you’ll need during the practice test, so you can easily access them during the final test.

EquatIO Tips:

  • You can stop the EquatIO window from blocking the question by clicking and dragging the pop-up to a new spot on your screen. Make sure to check your answer for all errors before inserting your equation, as it cannot be edited or corrected afterwards and will need to be re-entered.
  • We do not recommend subscribing to the premium version of EquatIO for extra practice on your own as it cannot be used during the final test.
  • We do not recommend using voice mode as practice because talking out loud is not permitted during the final test.
  • You can insert equations and symbols using your keyboard using a variety of shortcuts. Visit these links to learn more:
  • We do not recommend using EquatIO for Grade 11 or 12 chemistry courses, as there are better tools available.
