Final Tests

You have the option of rescheduling your final test session up to two days prior to the scheduled date. To reschedule your final test session, log in to your TVO ILC Student Portal, navigate to the ‘Schedule Final Tests’ tab and select the option to reschedule next to the relevant final test session.

Yes. All TVO ILC final tests are currently being conducted online. To ensure academic integrity, students are virtually paired up with test proctors. Proctors are people who watch you take a test, much like teachers do in a classroom setting. Students do not pay any extra fees for final tests.

TVO ILC Final Tests are designed to be two hours long. Your TVO ILC Proctor will give you periodic time-check reminders during your test session.

Yes. TVO ILC students are required to write their final test.

Yes. You must complete all course work and the final test before your course end date. To verify your course end date, login to the TVO ILC Portal and visit the Final Test tab. Your final test session must be scheduled and completed at least two weeks (10 business days) prior to your course end

All TVO ILC students are required to write final tests in order to earn course credits. If your course expires before your final assessment is marked, your enrollment will be dropped automatically, and your credit will not be earned. Only students with an approved accommodation will be granted extra time on their final test. The amount of extra time granted will be confirmed once your accommodation request has been approved. Every TVO ILC course provides a practice test. Some offer both a PDF practice test and a digital practice test. Visit your course within Brightspace to explore these options.    PDF practice tests and suggested answers can be found at the end of the final unit within the course. The PDF practice test is indicative of the final test experience with Microsoft Teams and should be accessed by students testing

TVO ILC permits the use of:   Scrap paper for working out problems (all courses)  A non-programmable scientific calculator such as a Casio FX-300ms or Sharp EL-520 (select business, math and science courses)    Media log entries and culminating project reflection (only EMS3O) For select math, business and science courses, TVO ILC will provide a periodic table and/or formula sheet. These resources may be embedded at the top or bottom of your final test.
