Earning your OSSD

Yes!  As the Ontario Ministry of Education’s digital learning partner, TVO ILC is an official, publicly funded, non-profit provider of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma. 

What you need to earn an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) depends on the year you started high school. A. If you started an Ontario high school between September 1, 1999, and August 31, 2024, you must earn: a minimum of 30 credits 18 compulsory and 12 optional credits the literacy graduation requirement 40 hours

TVO ILC can provide you with an assessment of the diploma requirements applicable to you and a pathway towards your diploma.  You can request a Pathway Diploma Assessment through your TVO ILC Portal, Request Documents. Once you have completed all the requirements for your diploma and are ready to graduate with TVO ILC, you can request a Final Diploma Assessment. This assessment will review all your academic records/documents  and the credits earned at TVO ILC to determine if all requirements for an OSSD have been completed. For more information about

After you have completed all the requirements needed for your diploma, you can request a Final Diploma Assessment to confirm that you have met all the requirements and have earned your diploma. TVO ILC will then issue an official final transcript that shows all of your earned credits, any Grade 11 and 12 credits attempted, and other diploma requirements that

Yes!  We are recognized by all Ontario post-secondary institutions. In fact, many colleges and universities will recommend TVO ILC to students who need to upgrade their courses or take courses to meet postsecondary program requirements. We encourage you to contact each post-secondary institution directly to learn more about their admission requirements.
