Will my final test be online?

Yes. All TVO ILC final tests are currently being conducted online. To ensure academic integrity, students are virtually paired up with test proctors. Proctors are people who watch you take a test, much like teachers do in a classroom setting. Students do not pay any extra fees for final tests.

How can I answer questions that require formulas and graphs on a digital test?

For select TVO ILC courses in math, business and science, students writing final tests through ProctorU can use a digital tool called EquatIO, which is located in the “insert stuff” section of the rich text answer box   It is also available within digital practice tests for these courses, which we  highly recommend using to prepare for the final test.   EquatIO

What materials can I use during my final test?

TVO ILC permits the use of:   Scrap paper for working out problems (all courses)  A non-programmable scientific calculator such as a Casio FX-300ms or Sharp EL-520 (select business, math and science courses)    Media log entries and culminating project reflection (only EMS3O)  An approved essay outline (optional for Grade 12 English courses)    For select math, business and science courses, TVO ILC will provide a periodic table and/or formula sheet. These resources may be embedded at the top or bottom of your final test.

What should I do if I have an Individual Education Plan (IEP)?

As early as possible and prior to your final unit: Log in to the TVO ILC Portal   Visit the “Accommodation Forms” tab in the left navigation menu   Click “Request Accommodation”    Upload your supporting documentation and add any additional comments   Click “Confirm” to submit your accommodations request     Our guidance team will then review the request and indicate which accommodations TVO ILC can provide based on your submitted documentation. If you have additional questions, visit

My essay outline hasn’t been approved but I have a test appointment scheduled. Can I still write my test?

For grade 12 English courses, students have the option to bring an approved essay outline to the final test.
